This guide is for the 2nd gen Wi-Fi stick with serial number "4K........."

If you have a 1st gen Wi-Fi stick with serial number "AH........." please refer to the guide here

The new generation wireless monitoring device of Growatt WiFi-E module can only be configured via the ShinePhone mobile app. The configuration is very convenient and simple.

First connect your mobile to the WiFi of the wireless router you wish the WiFi-E module connect to, then sign up an account on our server and add the WiFi-E module in your account. Lastly, setup the connection to router and the setting is done.

The detailed setting procedure via iPhone is as below.

1. Connect your iPhone to the wireless router you want the WiFi-E module to connect to.

2. Open “ShinePhone” app, click on “New User” to sign up an account on Growatt servers,

3. Complete all required information, then click “Finish” to complete the account registration.

Note: The serial number of dongle has this format for example 4K05500061, and the letter is capital. The code box above Finish is for you to enter letters/digitals shown in the left picture and when you click picture it will show different letters/digitals.

Tip: the validation code at the end of the form can timeout quite quickly. Just press refresh to get a new validation code when you are ready to submit the form.

4. A “Registration success” dialog window will appear, click “Yes”. Then click the big ellipse button to sign in the server with the account you just registered.

Sometimes, a “Networking Timeout” Error will appear after you click the ellipse button. If that occurs, please completely exit the “ShinePhone” app and open it again, then log in with your account.

5. You will enter the “Plant Overview” page. Scroll up on the screen, and click the plus sign to add a new plant under your account.

6. Fill out all required information (click map to enter longitude/latitude), then click “Finish”.

7. You will enter the “Plant List” page, click on the plant

8. Select “Plant Overview” at the left bottom side, then click on “Datalog” to add the WiFi-E module into the plant you just created.

10. It will first show “Searching, please wait” and then jump to the router connection setting page. If the “Setting” page doesn’t show, just click the plus sign on the top right side, then it will come up. If the searching result show nothing, you click the + go to Setting window; if the searching result show Device (IP address), this means this dongle has been setup the wifi code before.

11. Enter the WiFi password of the wireless router, and click “Set”. The “ShinePhone” app will take several mins to configure the connection of the WiFi-E module to router automatically. A prompt dialog window will show you if the configuration is successful or not.

12. After successfully set the wifi code, please click the ‘Back’ and go back to the “Plant Overview” option, you will find the data logger is already ‘On-line’ in yellow.

13. Now you can click the ‘Device List’ in the bottom and select ‘Storage’ to check if the SP2000 has been added to your plant. Or you can click the ‘Plant Detail’ to look at new data (wait for 5 mins to upload new data).

Install tips:

  • The blue LED on the Wi-Fi stick flashes quickly before it is configured. Once the configuration is complete the blue LED will flash slowly (every 3 seconds)
  • The Wi-Fi stick will try and find your customer's home Wi-Fi network automatically. If you have trouble with the setup please double check it has found the correct Wi-Fi network.

Troubleshooting steps:

  • Check that your customer's internet connection is working and try rebooting their internet router
  • Try restarting the SP2000 unit by switching it off and on again
