Solax Hybrid - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I run the Solax Hybrid without a battery and then upgrade later?

Yes you can run the Solax Hybrid as an inverter and then install a battery at a later date. When installing the Solax Hybrid you will still need to install the CT sensor on the grid tails as this is required for the unit to operate. It will detect that the battery has not yet been connected and operate as a grid-tie PV inverter.

What are the charge parameters for the Solax Hybrid unit?

The charge parameters are available at the links below:

LG Chem RESU 3.3 / 6.5 battery charger parameters

ZTE Pylontech lithium battery charger parameters

Do I need an SD memory card for the LG Chem RESU battery?

The LG Chem RESU batteries supplied by NuVision Energy come with the correct firmware for the Solax Hybrid charger. An SD memory card would only be required if you are using the battery with a different charger such as the Victron unit.

Can I hard wire the Solax Hybrid online?

Yes. You can hard wire the Solax Hybrid with a CAT5 cable plugged into the LAN port.

When is the EPS output live?

The Solax has an EPS output used to provide limited back-up power (up to 2kW) in the case of a grid failure. This output is only live when the inverter loses the AC grid connection.

What is the maximum range for the grid CT sensor?

You can extend the cable to the grid CT sensor up to 100m using a shielded CAT5 cable.

Is it possible to connect the Solax Hybrid to the CT sensor with a wireless link?

No there is not a wireless link available.

What is the maximum output of the EPS back-up output?

The maximum output through the EPS back-up output is 2kWp if you attempt to draw more power the unit will shut down.
