Announcement that the EU will be increasing the import tariff on Chinese Manufactured modules
It has been announced that the EU will be increasing the minimum import tariff on April 1st 2015 to EUR 0.56 per watt. The minimum price for Solar Cells will increase to EUR0.28
A year ago the minimum import price (MIP) was reduced for crystalline solar modules to EUR 0.53 per watt. The reason for the increase is, generally believed to be, the weak exchange rate of the euro against the dollar.
It is believed that the increase of the MIP will lead to a general increase in module prices over the coming months within the UK.
