What is the purpose of MCS?
The MCS accreditation is designed to offer:
Through the MCS working alongside the consumer portection code to ensure MCS companies are working to Trading Standard Institute code of practice
By certifying products as MCS approved it ensures the product meet rigorous and European and International standards. Whilst MCS apporved installers are assessed to ensure the supply, design, installation, set-to-work and commissioning of renewable microgeneration technologies
The MCS scheme is linked to the Governments finance schemes and incentives
Some MCS products can be installed without planning permission when installed in accordance with the General Permitted Development Order (GPDO).
MCS certified technologies can be used to meet the requirements of this code
MCS certified products are recognised by the National Calculation Methodology for the energy rating of dwellings, known as SAP.
