Tips for your first installation: Before you go to site

  1. Read the install manual
  2. Sign up for an installer account on the PowerRouter website: http://www.powerrouter.com
  3. Sign up for an installer account on the myPowerRouter monitoring website: http://www.mypowerrouter.com
  4. You will need a laptop computer on site to run the Nedap Install Tool. Download the Install Tool from the PowerRouter website and make sure it runs on your laptop (you might need to switch off Bluetooth)
  5. The PowerRouter must be connected online, you will need to supply an Ethernet cable or a wireless adapter
  6. Check the distance from the PowerRouter to the grid tails, you will need to supply a CAT5e cable to extend the current sensor. If the distance is more than 10m then you will probably need to buy a digital current sensor in order to get a good signal.
  7. If you want to offer Emergency Back-up Power (keep running important loads when the grid goes down) then you will need to supply and install a 100A contactor relay. Nedap recommend you install essential loads on a secondary consumer unit to keep running for longer.
  8. Be sure of the settings when you run the Nedap Install Tool, the battery settings are especially important. Settings can't be changed remotely so make sure they are correct.
  9. Lead acid batteries must operate between 10°C and 30°C. If installing in a garage which could be cold in winter consider installing insulation.
  10. The password to run the Nedap Install Tool is the last four digits of the PowerRouter serial number
