A look at the Ulica product range and how the module compares in key areas such as Brand, Pricing, Aesthetics and Performance.

Choosing which PV module to use on an installation is usually a decision that has to rationalise many factors.

The main factors considered are:

·         Brand

·         Quality

·         Price

·         Performance

·         Aesthetics

·         Certification and warranty

Considering these, we can take an in-depth look into how the Ulica module range performs in each of these categories.

Brand:

Ulica compared to other brands but is perhaps not as well-known in the UK market, but it is gaining a growing reputation within the solar industry for manufacturing quality PV modules. Ulica is owned by the Shanshan Group who is one of the top 500 enterprises in China. In recent years, Ulica have made significant investment in both their manufacturing plant and research and development to ensure they remain at the forefront of the PV industry. They have also had major success resulting in large installation in Europe.

Quality:

Often people associate a trade-off with quality and price.. The Ulica modules are designed and manufactured to last longer than the lifetime of the FITs tariff. Using the latest production techniques, for example diffusion technology to ensure uniformity of cells.

Price:

The Ulica module range is delivered at a quality that is not compromised by the price. It offers one of the lowest costs per watt on the market while delivering on performance and finish.

Performance

Ulica modules deliver a strong performance with the Ulica 250 all black mono and poly 250 offering a module efficiency of 15.39%. With these efficiencies customers can be reassured they will see a return on their investment through the FITs tariff and savings on their electricity bill.

Aesthetics

Panel aesthetics are usually more of a concern in the domestic market where customers require a panel that blends into their property.  To achieve this, Ulica offer the Mono all black panel which offers the owner the look, performance and price all in one. Commercial premises are generally more concerned with price than aesthetics, which usually means the Ulica Poly range are ideally suited to these jobs.

Certification and Warranties

As standard the Ulica product range comes with a 10yr material and craftwork guarantee. Ulica also offer a 10 year power output guarantee at 90% and a follow up 80% power output guarantee for the next 15 years of the module life are provided, for a total of twenty five years limited warranty.

The Ulica module range are TUV Rhineland tested and certified and have passed the PID, Fire, Salt Mist Corrosion Test and Ammonia corrosion test and are MCS certified for the UK.
